Έπειτα από αποκλειστικό
ρεπορτάζ του Onus News, προκύπτει πως τις τελευταίες ημέρες
κυκλοφορεί ένα επικίνδυνο spam mail, του οποίου «πιθανότατα» ο δημιουργός ζητεί
βοήθεια, υποσχόμενος δεκάδες εκατομμύρια δολάρια.
Το mail το οποίο κυκλοφορεί, υπογράφει κάποιος
με το όνομα Richard Gama, ο οποίος δίνει μέχρι και ένα τηλεφωνικό
αριθμό, ενώ κατόπιν έρευνας προκύπτει πως έχει εκδώσει και διαφορετικά mail, αλλάζοντας το υποσχόμενο ποσό που θα δώσει
σε αυτόν που θα τον βοηθήσει. Το mail εμφανίζεται ως
απλό mail, μιας και φαίνεται ως όνομα αποστολέα
η yahoo. Επίσης, δεν προκαλεί ζημιές μέσω ιών
στον υπολογιστή, ωστόσο το αρχείο που το συνοδεύει, η επιστολή, μπορεί να
εξαπατήσει κάποιον.
Ακολουθεί απόσπασμα από το mail (με
έντονα γράμματα βλέπετε τις διαφορές):

years old boy from Sierra Leone. My father and I escaped from our country
at the heat of the civil war after losing my mother and two of my senior
brothers in the war.

a northern city to negociate for the purchase of a cocoa plantation when he was
shot and killed by the rebel troupes

The death of my father has now made me an orphan and thereby exposing me to
dangers.
Before his unfortunate death, my late father called me one day and told
me as his only surviving Son that he deposited the sum of $ 15 million United State Dollars in a
bank in United Kingdom and my name was used as the next of kin to the
depositor, I am living in United Kingdom now as a refugee.
As a result of the present
insecurity of lives and property in this country now, I wish to request that
you assist me to transfer this fund to your designated account for investment purposes.
Also to assist me with a letter of invitation that will make me get a visa to
your country for residence in order for me to continue with my education in
your country and to invest the fund in a lucrative business venture.
I am willing to give you 25%
for assisting me and extra 5%
