Minister of Greece Yanis Varoufakis has resigned from his post following the
historic referendum that voted against accepting creditors' terms for a
bailout.
The minister alleged that many members of
the Eurozone did not want to deal with him.
He said that it is imperative for Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to reach
an agreement with the troika creditors including the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) and the European Central Bank (ECB).
He said, "We of the Left know how to
act collectively with no care for the privileges of office. I shall support
fully Prime Minister Tsipras, the new Minister of Finance, and our
government."
